Mason Carter

Started officiating after watching a High School game at Evie Dennis
field in Aurora, Colorado in 2016. A friend dragged me out to the
field to root on her students. I had always thought I would enjoy
officiating but never had the urge to take the next step. I went down
to the field and introduced myself to the crew and one of the
officials followed up with me and kept in touch. I have been hooked
ever since, 9 years into my career I have worked over 60 games at the
D2 level.
There’s something special about being in the middle of the action,
where every play matters and every decision shapes the game. I love
officiating football because it combines my passion for the sport with
a deep respect for fairness, discipline, and teamwork. Being on the
field allows me to contribute to the game I grew up loving—not as a
player, but as someone who helps ensure it's played the right way.
Officiating challenges me to stay sharp, make split-second decisions
under pressure, and constantly improve. But more than that, it’s about
the camaraderie with fellow officials, the respect earned from coaches
and players, and the satisfaction of knowing I’ve helped create a
safe, competitive, and fair environment for everyone involved.
